Stuart Down: Background in Plumbing & Heating
I started plumbing many years ago after becoming tired and bored of sitting behind a desk. Prior to starting SCD Plumbing, I worked for JP Morgan and Liverpool Victoria. At the age of 28, I changed direction and went to Dorchester College for two years, whilst working for a building company doing labour work.
Following this, I went to Eastleigh College to get my Plumbing Level 3 Qualification and Gas Safe. I started working for a company called Solwat for two years, before moving to Drewsons Plumbing and Heating for a further eighteen months.
In May 2016, I started my own business, initially sub-contracting for local agencies for around four months, whilst lining up enough jobs to keep me going. I haven’t looked back since!
Work became so busy that I have had to take on an apprentice in October 2016, who is on day release from Bournemouth College.
Although I have an ICT Degree from the Southampton Institute, I hope never to work near a computer again!

OPENING HOURS
Please note: Gas appliance servicing and safety checks can be carried out between 5pm and 8pm, if this time is more convenient for both the customer and SCD Plumbing.
